It comprises of brief descriptions of the components of a UMTS network, the basic steps needed in order to configure a OneLab box to support UMTS, and the problem of sharing a UMTS connection among concurrent experiments. Such a problem is not trivial and is partly in common with other "new environments", which is why efforts are made to devise a common solution to this problem. In a final section, an illustration is given of the next steps in the process, aimed at integrating the UMTS node into the OneLab experimental deployment, and at replicating at the Alcatel-Lucent premises the prototypal setup initially created in the laboratory of CINI - University of Naples. |
