University of Essex

The University of Essex's School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering brings experience and skills in Future Internet architectures such as optical packet-switching and information-centric networking, traffic engineering in multi-layer networks and the design and modelling of hybrid electro-optical networks. Specific competences include the development of a modelling environment for multi-layer Information-Centric (IC) networks and the experience of implementing a large-scale IC network testbed as part of a nationally-funded project (PAL) and EU project (PSIRP).

Role in the OneLab project:

The University of Essex has joined the OneLab2 project as an outcome of the close cooperation between Onelab2 and the PSIRP project. Researchers at Essex will assist the design of the Publish/Subscribe solution in Onelab2 and identify the necessary extensions for PlanetLab in order to support PSIRP extensions.
