Ericsson Telecommunications Hungary (ETH)

Performance analysis and traffic modelling comprise the main competences of the ETH Traffic Lab. The methodologies include measurements, simulation and mathematical analysis. More specifically, the analysis of IP networks and the TCP protocol is considered as well as the understanding of radio characteristics and the interaction of system and user behaviour.

Role in the OneLab project:

ETH joins the project in its second phase (OneLab2) and plans to add a wireless emulation test bed, which is based on PC nodes and different radio access technology devices (HSDPA, WLAN, Bluetooth, ZigBee, 3GPP-LTE-like), and a link emulator platform. The emulator is focused on, but not restricted to, modeling the characteristics of cellular mobile systems. The emulator's features include drop-tail queuing, bandwidth limitation, propagation delay and packet loss settings as well as handover emulation between access routers belonging to different access technologies and trace-based delay variation emulation. Any or all of the access links can be realised by real equipment of the actual technologies, or substituted by our link emulator. ETH will mainly be involved in OneLab2 WP6 Wireless and OneLab2 WP8 SAC.
