Deliverable description:

This document describes in detail the emulation component developed in the OneLab project, covering the overall architecture of the component and its interactions with the PlanetLab platform, the internal architecture of the emulation component, and all the implementation details that are needed to use and modify the component itself.

In short, the emulation component allows users of the PlanetLab platform to perform experiments on emulated links with user-configurable features, modeling the behaviour of wired or wireless links of various types. The component, implemented around inexpensive external boxes sitting on the link between nodes and the rest of the internet, can be deployed incrementally and allows multiple emulated links to be defined and used without interference.
