UC3M was the coordinator of the E-NEXT Network of Excellence, and so ensured that OneLab1 coordinated with the ensemble of E-NEXT participants. The UC3M Department of Telematics is involved in education and research on broadband networks, advanced internet networking and applications, and intelligent agents. Its staff is steadily increasing, and at this moment includes two full professors, 23 associate professors, 25 part-time lecturers plus 19 research assistants. The staff of the Department of Telematics has participated and directed projects of several European R&D programmes (ESPRIT, RACE, ACTS, IST), Spanish R&D programmes (PLANBA, MCYT, PASO), and also in contracts with industry and public administrations. UC3M was involved in the OneLab1 project, where it was responsible for the multihoming component of Workpackage 4.
