OneLab collaborates as a test bed federator with FIREworks, a project charged with a Coordination and Support Action (CSA) role by the European Comission's FIRE inititive (Future Internet Research and Experiementation). Its objective is to coordinate the 14 projects funded by FIRE and to support the interaction between test bed activities in Europe and their respective connections outside Europe, mainly in North America and the Far East.

FIREworks is run as a partnership between representatives of FIRE's two flagship projects, Panlab and OneLab. OneLab participates in FIREworks through its Project Leader, Prof. Serge Fdida.
