Thales Group totaled revenues over 12 billion Euro in 2006. Within the 68,000 employees worldwide, one third is involved in R&D that totals 2.2 billion Euros. Thales Communications France S.A. (TCF) revenues reached 1 billion Euro. TCF addresses every activity related to telecommunications and has developed a full range of telecommunication platforms, components and security products.

The laboratory of TCF involved in OneLab is Advanced Information Technologies (TAI) whose mission is to envision the future approach, architecture and technology for Thales systems within the Systems Engineering and Architecture group. The TAI team is involved in leading edge IT projects aiming in specification, design and integration of security, telecommunication infrastructures and large information systems. TAI is the coordinating entity of FP6/IST projects ANEMONE, DESEREC, POPEYE, and participates in IST projects CHORIST, DISCREET, MULTINET, the ITEA projects ANSO and SODA, and some French RNRT projects.

Role in the OneLab project:

Having joined the project in its second phase (OneLab2), the Thales Group is working to enrich existing software components of the test bed and develop new ones in WP8 Integrating SAC Networks and WP6 Wireless to provide monitoring and configuration services for the OneLab Wireless Toolkit and to offer the support of a Delay Tolerant Networking (DTN) stack.
