The expanding PlanetLab Europe testbed is recruiting a Linux Systems Administrator (Sysop) for its NOC (Network Operations Centre) based at UPMC Sorbonne Universités, Paris. The new candidate would become a member of the PlanetLab Europe operations team, and would assist in the administration of the PlanetLab Europe testbed, one of the flagship testbeds of the European Commission's Future Internet effort, and develop innovative mechanisms for federation between testbeds. The successful applicant should have a Masters in computer science, or an engineering degree, with a specialization in computer science. A specialization in networking would be a plus. Technical competencies include experience in Linux systems administration and development, Python programming. Additional experience of any of the following would be useful: Apache, BIND, Postfix, Sendmail, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Shell and SQL programming and Linux VServer or other virtualization system expertise. They should speak English fluently, and fluency in another language of the European Union and/or a basic ability in French would be helpful. For further details, see the job offers page. |
