F-Lab: Federating computing resources

The F-Lab project is a new French-funded project that will contribute to development of the OneLab initiative. Financed by a grant of 1.2 million Euros from the French national research agency ANR, and running for a three-year period starting 1st November 2010, the project's partners are among France's top academic and industrial research institutions, and all are OneLab innovation partners. Partners in the F-Lab project are: UPMC, Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs France, Thales Communications and INRIA. Three of INRIA's project teams will take part, D-NET, Planète and POPS.

F-Lab will build on the OneLab initiative to work towards enabling an open, general-purpose and sustainable large-scale shared experimental facility that fosters the emergence of the Future Internet. F-Lab will enhance the OneLab federation model with the addition of SensLAB's unique sensor network and LTE-based cellular systems, and develop tools to conduct experiments on these enriched facilities.
