We are pleased to announce the lauch of the Free T-Rex tools platform, which has been developed by OneLab lead partners Fraunhofer FOKUS. National and international research programs (such as GENI, FIRE) are currently setting up experimental facilities to supplement theoretical Future Internet research using large scale experimentation. However, there is a common lack of standardization in experimentation setup in terms of measurement and observation tools which capture experiment outcome and log experiment conditions. To solve this problem, the Free Tools and Experimentation initiative (Free T-REX) unites scientists, Future Internet tool developers and testbed operators in an online global research community. Free T-REX is a new milestone in experiment measurement and observation conceived by the OneLab community. It offers a wide range of tools for Future Internet research and experimentation. Free T-REX provides a platform for testbed users, testbed operators and tool developers to facilitate tools open to the public and to share experience and results. It seeks to employ standardized instruments to improve the comparability and shareability of scientific results in the field of Future Internet. Free T-REX is of interest to a wide range of user groups who could benefit from the open source experimentation tools platform, offering:
