NITOS scheduler

The NITOS Scheduler was developed at NITLab, the Network Implementation Testbed Laboratory of the Computer and Communication Engineering Department at University of Thessaly, also affiliated with OneLab lead partner CERTH. This tool is responsible for managing the NITOS testbed resources.

nitos_topologyThe NITOS testbed has an unusual topology, as it's nodes are not located in one place, but spread throughout a six-story building (see figure, below). This means that NITOS topology can not be realistically represented in two dimentions. The NITOS scheduler is speciallyl designed to record the exact position of each node in the building. Furthermore, the scheduler mirrors the testbed's slicing capabilities, enabling spectrum slicing support on NITOS. This means that numerous users may use the testbed at the same time, without interfering with each other, since each one will be using a different spectrum. The spectrum is specified by each user at scheduling. The scheduler does not allow a user to choose any channel that has been chosen by another user.

For futher details of how to use the NITOS Scheduler, please see the instructions on the NITLab site. Please note that in order to use the Scheduler you need to be a registered user of the NITOS testbed. If you are not yet a member of the NITOS testbed, create an account.

If you are a registered NITOS user, please log in and you can use the Scheduler to book your nodes, right now!

For further details, see the NITOS Scheduler webpage.
