ARGOS card

The team at OneLab lead partner UAM developed both software and hardware solutions for active measurements on the ETOMIC measurement infrastructure. The hardware solution, called ARGOS, is a state-of-the-art high-precision network measurement card, consisting of two parts: a programmable NetFPGA card, available from Digilents Inc., and a sister card developed by UAM. The precision of ARGOS is high, and for a minimal cost (for academic institutions, each card costs less than 300€, or 500USD) it provides even more accurate packet tracking measurements. ARGOS provides a measurement resolution of tens of nanoseconds. This hardware makes use of a GPS device to keep both measurement endpoints synchronised.
