Located in Israel's cultural, financial and industrial heartland, Tel Aviv University is the largest university in Israel. It is a major centre of teaching and research, comprising nine faculties, 106 departments, and 90 research institutes. The School of Electrical Engineering offers three prestigious undergraduate programmes, with a total of around 1050 students: a classical "EE" programme, and joint programmes with the School of Physics and with the School of Computer Sciences. The School's advanced degree programmes are the largest in the country with over 400 Master students and 120 PhD students.

The School's outstanding faculty includes many who are numbered among the leading researchers, in Israel and internationally, in their field. Over 30 of them have been recognised as Fellows of the IEEE and other prestigious professional societies. The school emphasises cutting-edge research by faculty and graduate students. DIMES is the world's leading topology measurement project, with over 3 million measurement performed a day from hundreds of vantage points spread in over 90 nations worldwide. The project can measure connectivity, delay, loss, bandwidth, available capacity, and QoS related measures. It was part of the EVERGROW IP that was funded within the Sixth Framework's Future and Emerging Technologies division.

Role in the OneLab project:

Joining the project for its second phase (OneLab2), TAU leads the integration of DIMES into OneLab and takes a pivotal role in the active measurement capability enhancement of the second phase of the OneLab project, specifically within WP4 Topology Information.
