NICTA is Australia's national Centre of Excellence in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) research. It was established as part of an Australian government initiative ("Backing Australia's Ability") to promote science and innovation. NICTA aims to capitalise on the untapped Australian ICT talents of an international standard. NICTA has been conducting innovative research in computer and mobile device networking for several years. It is currently a partner in other EU projects within the FP6, namely the EuQoS project (End-to-end QoS support over heterogeneous networks) and the AN project (Ambient Networks). In the OneLab project's second phase (OneLab2), NICTA works mostly within WP6 Wireless, planning to extend OMF to support federation of wireless testbed resources, not only within the second-phase OneLab testbeds, but also across the other OMF-based testbeds in the US, Australia, and others currently under construction.
