About OneLab
An introduction for the general public

The OneLab initiative develops testbeds for the Future Internet. It offers a range of services to testbed users and owners, including an open federation of testbeds which supports network research for the Future Internet.

Based primarily on the results of two European Commission FP7 projects, OneLab (2006-2008) and OneLab2 (2008-2010) the OneLab initiative is now financially supported by several European and National research projects, including OpenLab on the European level, F-Lab and FIT in France, and the FIBRE EU-Brazil project.

OneLab’s offering is not tied to one single project but is ongoing, giving European industry and academia lasting access to a range of tools and testbeds, allowing them to innovate today and assess the performance of future solutions. OneLab is also developing strong international partnerships, exploring and experimenting with the concept of ‘federation', initally between testbeds based on the PlanetLab model (to date PlanetLab Europe is federated with PlanetLab Central, Private PlanetLab Korea, and PlanetLab Japan), while other types of federation – notably the using the OMF management tool to federate PlanetLab Europe to the wireless testbed NITOS.

This section explains the workings of OneLab's management structure, and key partners who contribute to, innovate and lead the facility.
