An introduction for the general public The OneLab initiative develops testbeds for the Future Internet. It offers a range of services to testbed users and owners, including an open federation of testbeds which supports network research for the Future Internet. Experimentally-driven research is key to success in exploring the possible futures of the Internet. In PlanetLab Europe , the NITOS wireless testbed, and its other federated testbeds, OneLab provides an open, general-purpose, shared experimental facility, both large-scale and sustainable, which allows European industry and academia to innovate today and assess the performance of their solutions. OneLab is also developing strong international partnerships, exploring and experimenting with the concept of ‘federation'. This section explains the workings of OneLab's management structure, and key partners who contribute to, innovate and lead the facility.
